Obama Okays Great Lakes Water Sales To China- Causes Record Low Water Levels

Let's not wait till the water runs dry- ooh ooh ooh oh

A little more than a year ago, The Center for Western Journalism ran a story on Obama’s war on America’s fresh water supply. People scoffed and called the outlet doomsdayers and Obama naysayers, but now, it appears their warnings may have been accurate, as record low levels for the American Great Lakes have been reported.

The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers reported earlier this year that Lake Huron and Lake Michigan have achieved their lowest water levels since records for such information began being kept back in 1918. In spite of the record low levels, the Obama administration has still given the go-ahead to export water from the lakes to China for commercial sale, to the tune of between half a million and nearly two million dollars a day in profits. Nestle corporation, a Swiss company, is also sold water from the Great Lakes.

Little known to many, is the fact that the Great Lakes hold roughly 20% of the world’s fresh water supply, and much of that water is being exported to other countries due to a loop hole being exploited by the Obama administration. Knowing how precious fresh water is, and how rare it is in much of the rest of the world, former U.S. President George W. Bush set aside the water in the Great Lakes to be protected. However, the Obama administration has relabeled the water in the lakes a “commodity” which allows them to sell it, which is what they are doing.

In the past, only third world countries struggled with fresh water supplies. This was a harsh reality in rough parts of the world that Americans had always been sheltered from. But now that the Obama administration has allowed for the privatization of America’s water sources, Americans too may someday soon understand the struggles of simply obtaining fresh water.

    STRAIGHT BULLSHIT!

  • Eric Wilks

If there is a profit of 1-2 million a day, then why is that money not being put towards our debt?, or is this a way that we are repaying our debt to China? Either way, I don’t think that we should be messing with our Great Lake water supplies because water will someday be a definite commodity that we will surely need.

  • Eric Wilks

Also, wouldn’t Canada have a say on this as well? Being that some of the great lakes make up their shoreline as well….

  • Eric Wilks

Jesse Ventura Conspiracy Theory on Great Lakes. Here he talks about Water being the new oil, check it out.

  • James Birchfield

SOMEBODY please end that cancer on our country!

  • Socalkent

LMAO this is too funny…what are they gunna run a pipeline across the ocean? truck loads or even boat loads will not even make a dent in the amount of water in those lakes and I’m sure Canada would have some sort of say so in it….. and from the last I herd the water in those lakes isn’t that fresh with all the sewage and industrial waste in them

  • Sally

Yea we will someday need the water, however it will either be evaporated or in China!!!!! How does this person who pretends to care about our country (not his) continue to desecrate & damage this USA any way he can think about!!!!! Does he have no foresight or understanding of what he is doing & who is going to stop this theft of our resources & MONEY!!!!!!!

  • Anthony Zoppina

doesnt water just magically reappear though?

  • Clay

ok there seems to be something here that everybody is missing. so lets talk numbers, we are a country of 300,000,000 or so, with 20% of the world supply of fresh water. on the other hand, China has 20% of the world’s population, but with only 7% of the fresh water supply. and Chinas water is even more polluted than it’s air, which is saying something, my point is, why, in our already prosperous country, should we hoard more resources than we need and which could be used to provide millions of people with clean water?

  • Eric Wilks

Watch the Jesse Ventura video I posted, They have these bladders that hold Millions of gallons hooked to a boat and they tow it across… Very interesting, its that Nestle company that does it..

when in hell is this countrys goverment going to get some balls and get rid of this man before he complely destroys us. i know the great lakes are getting lower. can see it in the harbor where i live. plus those jumping carp are in the great lakes also. god help us cause our goverment is killing us.

  • pat wood

you are stupid socalkent. you are one of the blind obama ass kissing idiots. go take a look the great lakes are getting lower. and obama does not fucking care if you suffer as long as his cronies are doing well.

  • KentPerry

They fill bladders made of thick reinforced vinyl that have no weight once they are in the ocean. They hold several hundred thousand TONS of water and yeah, there IS a pipeline and tanker trucks take it to the ships. You say it won’t make a dent?? Ha ha ah what a fool

  • KentPerry

Nestle is just the beginning., there are a LOT more stealing our water now and the water level is so low it will never come back at this point and they are still taking more and more and more.

  • KentPerry

People who defend Obama are as mentally ill as Obama is. The ONLY thing ya can do is beat the living crap out of em., THATS what it is going to come to

  • KentPerry

Clay,, I don’t like when idiots like you call a Country 17 TRILLION in Debt and 47 Million in abject poverty 80% near the poverty level, “prosperous” Besides that, there are other factors involved with weather that may really mess us up. We give BILLIONS to country’s that hate our guts we make GMO foods because we have thrown out our once dominant agriculture. We have the HIGHEST corporate tax rates in the world so good bye to all our manufacturing, we have Keystone pipeline shut down and BLOW billions on bankrupt green energy while the Coal industry is regulated out of existence. Everything Obama has done he has done out of revenge and spite. The man is literally KILLING us. Killing Jobs, Killing the Dollar and Killing the Status and respect we had where our Military once feared and revered is now a pathetic joke.

  • AGFoster

You pathetic imbecile! How many gallons have been sold so far? How was it transported? I doubt there is a word of truth to this story, but the world is full of fools like you who will believe anything, no matter how outlandish the story is, not matter how devoid of details. –AGF

  • AGFoster

Nobody with the tiniest shred of intelligence would believe such BS, and the fact that the “Free Patriot” will post it totally undermines its credibility. A news source for fools. I sure won’t be back. –AGF

We can’t even supply Nevada with good water–there’s no way to transport it. And only the stupidest fools on the face of the earth will believe a story like this one. If we can’t pipe it to Vegas how can we get it to China? It’s easier to tow icebergs, and that hasn’t proven feasible. –AGF

Good article. It’s a sad day when NG can beat you to pieces. The “Free Patriot” is clearly on a par with “The National Enquirer.” –AGF

  • Rob Bannister

You’d have to be beyond stupid to believe that bottling water for commercial sale to China would make eve the slightest bit of difference. Obama is a dreadful President, no arguing that, but so are people who believe any stupid posting about him without using the slightest bit of thought. LISTEN UP YOU INCREDIBLY STUPID, INSANELY GULLIBLE FOOLS — how could that much water, enough to lower the water levels of China get from the US to China. You’d need a pipeline the likes of which the world has never seen. Most likely water would be shipped via truck or train to a west coast port or go via the St. Lawrence International Seaway, a long and arduous procedure. Okay, you incredibly stupid, dumb fools, who when the elitist speak of how stupid Obama foes are, you provide living proof for believing this kind of pure nonsense… where do great cities like Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Toronto get their water? Uh-huh, the Great Lakes. Have you intellectual midgets ever heard about the cities’ water usage impact the water levels of Lakes Michigan, Huron, Erie, or Ontario — NO YOU HAVEN’T. Somehow we would export far more water than the water used by those more than million plus metro areas (much larger for Chicago and Toronto). If you’re that insanely stupid, please tell anyone who asks you, you’re an Obama supporter because one way or another you are. If people stupid enough to believe this nonsense are anti-Obama, what wonderful PR they have to characterize their opposition as stupid morons.

  • bryanbressem

i live here-and can say without any problem-this story is 100% bullshit-not one gallon can or will be sold without both all the great lake states and Canada-so don’t believe any stories from this bullshit outfit-there not true

  • Areminder

Don’t know about your first point, but I guarantee you that the EPA keeps a close watch on the freshness of the water in those lakes. They work constantly as do the State and County Water Conservation Districts, to make sure nothing goes into the lakes which will destroy them.

I have my doubts that the picture with this article is real because these districts are required to monitor the output to the lakes too regularly to let this slip by the public.

  • Areminder

Marxist countries ALWAYS starve millions of the population to death as a means to establish absolute control. Letting them die from thirst would be right in line with that goal.
I’ve read too many articles where obama is quoted as saying he admires or longs for a system of government like Communist China when he didn’t have to worry about elections, or the Congress.

  • Areminder

Hopefully God. But we need to be in much prayer before I see this happening. II Chronicles 7:14.

  • Areminder

I know the thought of God blessing a nation is foreign to many, but that’s why this land has been blessed in the past. The Bible speaks of God withholding the rains to discipline nations in Leviticus. The lands which will not acknowledge this God will not be blest. Even so, our nation has long cared for those less fortunate. Unfortunately, we’ve permitted Socialism/Communism to come into this country, and this always brings the Corruption of big business buying favors to become even bigger.

In the freedom which this nation was founded under. there may have been water rights wars, but the citizens came out against any person, or group which tried to cut it off from those in need. We need to return to God and regain His blessings.

  • Obsequious Hairdo

Fake. Ask a scientist. It’s evaporating. Even faster than you’d be able to ship it.

its fun watching clueless folks like you try to defend something.
Its already been proven that its happening bozo.
everyday ships tow these massive bladders filled with fresh water behind them to a reservoir in China.

  • AGFoster

Poor stupid sucker. Show us a picture, you idiot. Tell us where these ships are loading up, you fool. Tell us why China would bother sending ships through the Panama Canal to get water when there’s good fresh water in their own rivers, you moron. Tell us why they wouldn’t go to Alaska for water if they ever got the preposterous idea that they could ship it efficiently. Sorry, bud, but you have established your IQ as somewhere near the bottom 1% –didn’t they ever teach you in school that you are a retarded imbecile? –AGF

  • Eric Wilks

If you view the Jesse Ventura video, it will show you exactly how they ship it. Since ya asked…

  • AGFoster

OK, give me a link for the video and I’ll take a look. But you’d just as well give me a link for a flying saucer. Like I said, why would the Chinese go half way around the world to get water? Have you ever heard of a desalination plant? That’s always cheaper than shipping it. If Ventura has really put out such a video it just proves he’s in the con business and you suckered. –AGF

  • Clay

ok on the first part fair enough you make a good point, but seriously? revenge and spite? KILLING America? made our military pathetic? why would he have spite for a country that he strove for years to become the president of? you do have a bit of a point for the job thing. But I can’t understand why you’re being mad at the military being downsized a bit, I mean we can’t just keep spending and spending and spending just because we want to have an even bigger military influence in the world than is necessary.

  • Clay

    right……………….

  • AGFoster

Well I watched the video–hilarious. I’m pretty sure if you ever ran across Ventura and asked him about it he would tell you he was a paid actor, and didn’t believe a word of it. Sorry to tell you but only about 1 or 2% of the populace are gullible enough to believe such nonsense. It really is hilarious, but I’m apparently going to have to make you think enough about it that YOU can begin to see how ridiculous it is too.

90 million gallons a year? You think that’s a lot of water? The Chinese make water bottles, and ship them here, and fill them with water, and put them in bladders, and ship them back to China??? How can any human being be so stupid as to believe such idiocy?? Hey idiot, how do they get the bladders through the Canal?? Either canal?? Or do they sail around Africa or South America. You have to be so incredibly, hopelessly ignorant to believe such children’s fairy tales! See, pinhead, the ships would have to be carrying more water than the rivers they’re floating in to make a dent in the supply. Don’t yo understand that? Hey, idiot, are Chinese workers emptying these bottles by hand and pouring them into the ground faster than it’s raining? Don’t you see that that’s what they would have to do to make Jesse Ventura not be a liar?

Unbelievable stupidity. You should be ashamed of yourself. –AGF

  • KentPerry

The facts are all there to find shit head. All you got to do is take your face out of obama’s /SS and look at em.

  • AGFoster

Sorry, bud, but you’ve never had an intelligent thought in your life. What is the name of “Sanctuary -bleep.” Your con artists couldn’t even give a fake name–they had to bleep it out so you couldn’t check the facts. The bladders were photo shopped of course. Come on you idiot, tell me which way these ships sail. Not only do you not have a clue, but you’re not even smart enough to ask the pertinent questions. Tell me this, you pathetic fool, are the bladders full of water bottles? That’s the story, you idiot.

Here’s a simple question that could possibly make you use your brain for the first time in your life: how much does it cost to move a pound of cargo one mile by ship? Only the most gullible 1% of the population will believe such wacky BS. –AGF

  • AGFoster

You’re right. You were civil and polite and wished me a Merry Christmas and I returned your politeness with abuse. I apologize. But as for the video, it was pure BS from start to finish. No evidence was provided whatever, and the argument was anything but consistent and coherent. Let me enumerate some of the problems I picked up on at the first viewing:
    1) The only source for the poisoned bottled water was giving by a supposed Livermore Lab employee, name provided. (I would bet you $100 you could not connect the name with the lab.) The claim suggests a general problem, never specifying a brand. It provides no documentation for such an outlandish claim. It insinuates that bottled water everywhere is being poisoned, by whom? Who knows? The Chinese? Pickens? To make us docile?

    2) One of the supposed additives was lithium (to subjugate us?). The other I don’t remember? To kill us? And this is supposedly being done with nobody’s knowledge, except this actress who plays the part of a Livermore scientist.
    3) It would cost about $20 per ton to ship water from the Great Lakes to China. Desalination costs between $.05 and $1 per ton. So it would cost about 30 times as much to ship water in bulk from the Great Lakes to China as it would cost China to make its own in the most expensive method available–the method the Saudis resort to–turning seawater to drinking water.
    4) But the video seems to claim bottled water is being shipped to China, in which case the supposed bladders seem unnecessary. Are the bladders stuffed with bottles? Are the bottles poured into the bladders? Where? Bottles cost more than water, and would raise the price substantially–to about $1/gallon or $250/ton. And Chinese peasants are pouring this water onto Chinese soil? Do you believe that?
    5) The video shows a train of bladders trailing a ship. It says “H2O” on the bladders, in letters that could only be read from the air. Such a convoy could never get through the St. Lawrence Seaway, let alone through Panama or Suez. Such convoys should be easy to spot: thousands or millions of people would have seen them. Have you seen one? Do you know anyone who has? Sailor, pilot, passenger? Anyone? And you believe that?
    6) If such bladders exist why aren’t they used to haul oil? Is it really possible to replace steel ships with rubber? How do they hold their shape? How do you grab and pull them? Icebergs would be much easier to manage.
    7) And icebergs are hard to manage. They float but barely; 90% of the bulk is submerged, not at all streamlined. Fresh water is even less buoyant than bergs. Yet the moving picture shows the bladders planing out above water when in fact they would be 97% submerged. Even the English (why not Chinese) labels (visible only from the air) would have a hard time staying afloat, while the bladders had a hard time holding their shape, while being towed almost entirely under water.

And look Eric, that’s just for starters. I could watch it again and come up with just as many problems, getting into more and more detail. The story line is impossible BS from start to finish. The real question is who is behind it? I sense a conspiracy of some sort but it’s nothing like what you think. Who would make up such BS and why? Who hates bottled water?

Environmentalists do. They hate the way they fill our garbage dumps with not-so-biodegradable litter. They hate the way they clutter the ocean as cruise passengers throw them overboard. So do I. But I still buy it. I recycle most of the bottles. Nobody makes me buy it. If I believed a word of the video I would stop. But my grandma bought bottled water 50 years ago, and I know where it came from. I’ve been to the spring. I’ve seen the tank trucks drive to it and fill up. I’m confident the water is as pure now as it was 50 years ago.

But environmentalists will do or say just about anything to get you to quit drinking bottled water. They’ve invented a global crisis ostensibly caused by burning fuel–the same expensive fuel that makes their bottled water story impossible. They’ve apparently bought Ventura’s services including his real life identity to pawn off this propaganda on unsuspecting Bush haters and Obama haters. That’s my offhand explanation anyway. It’s hard to figure Ventura prostituting his cred just for cheap money from Tru TV.

I apologize again for my language, and assure you that you and yours are safe from me. Merry Christmas. –AGF

  • AGFoster

That minimum desalination figure should have been $.50, not $.05. That’s from Wikipedia. –AGF

It’s fun to argue with idiots. You know you can’t lose, even if they think they’re winning. Look, imbecile, the article bashes Bush, not Obama. And you’re to stupid even to pick up on that. Photoshopped? You bet, as any fool can plainly see. I’ll post this again for your benefit–after all, you’re the idiot who was doing the name calling, not the other guy.

If China really wants to buy drinking water from the US, I certainly wouldn’t get in their way. This statement, “…the fact that the Great Lakes hold roughly 20% of the world’s fresh water supply, and much of that water is being exported to other countries…” tells it all, while telling nothing. “Much”? How much? I’ll tell you how much: a drop in the bucket. If the whole world got its drinking water from the Great Lakes it wouldn’t make a bit of difference.

Let’s see, 7 billion people, each drinking say 2 quarts a day (some live in the tropics). So we’ll say 4 billion gallons per day, 365 days a year. That’s about one and a half trillion gallons per year, or about 4.5 million acre feet. Lake Superior alone covers about 20 million acres, so if the whole world got its drinking water there it would drop about 3 inches a year.

Now of course it’s pretty high end users who import their drinking water, and according to the video Nestles only delivers 90 million gallons of water from the lakes–barely enough to supply the US population with their drinking water needs. Whether or not they export a large fraction of their supply the lake won’t notice: they could drop Lake Superior about a tenth of an inch.

So welcome to the real world. Obviously math was not your favorite subject in school, and obviously “Wealthy Debates” doesn’t have any competent economists working for it. Duped again. –AGF
