ARMED PERPETRATORS LEARN A PAINFULLY UNLUCKY LESSON
Two suspected thieves fled the scene of their own crime appearing like the victims of a brutal assault after their not so easy targets fought back.
According to the Charlottesville, Va. police, Johnny Calderon Jr., 19, and Gerald Allen, 18, attempted an armed robbery of two students from the University of Virginia, which didn’t quite go according to plan.
When police arrived on the scene, they discovered the two students had beaten up and detained the suspects.
Johnny Calderon was charged with two counts of attempted robbery, one count of pointing a firearm and using a firearm to commit a felony, WVIR-TV reports. Gerald Allen is facing two counts of attempted robbery for his part.
“Johnny Calderon is due in General District Court Friday morning for a hearing. Allen is due in court on October 3,” the report states.
